A Crash Course in Love and Life: Day 8

Daily Meditations for the 40 Days of Lent and Any Time of Year

If you judge people, you have no time to love them.

Saint Teresa of Calcutta

Day 8

Grace is the ability to be patient, and to forgive. It’s easy to judge but much harder to be compassionate and to forgive. Generally, we are most critical towards the people who love us. We have high expectations of them.

So when they don’t hit the ‘Mark,’ we may get agitated, impatient, and quick-tempered.  Remember a quick comment can cut very deeply. Be slow with your words and quick with compassion.  Let’s grow in Grace day after day.

Reflection

When, where and with whom did you lack Grace over the years? Is there a particular person you seem to have more trouble showing compassion to? Ask the Lord to sustain you and pray so you can grow to accept the person for who they are as He is a Son of God too.
